2008 Eerie Horror Film Competition ...or by mail. Deadlines and Entry Fees (Non Refundable) Feature Films (50 mins or longer): $35.00 if postmarked by January 1, 2008 (U.S. Currency only) Student (10 - 17 years of age) Feature Films: $25.00 if postmarked by January 1, 2008 (U.S. Currency only) Short Films (49 mins or less): $30.00 if postmarked by January 1, 2008 (U.S. Currency only) Student (10 - 17 years of age) Short Films: $20.00 if postmarked by January 1, 2008 (U.S. Currency only) Absolutely NO submissions will be accepted after a postmark of September 1st, 2008. COMPLETE RULES: Not following the guidelines, rules, and regulations of our competition and/or not meeting eligibility requirements may be cause for disqualification. Please read carefully. Criteria: Each film will be judged solely on its own merits. We only accept original productions of a horror, suspense, thriller or science fiction/fantasy nature. Documentaries and works of non-fiction related to the horror genre ARE acceptable for submission. Content and/or rating is not an issue (though we will not accept any hard core XXX adult material, any films that feature animal cruelty and/or any depictions of actual torture/death). Entry Formats 1. All film entries must be submitted on VHS or DVD. (NTSC formats and Region 0 or Region 1 DVDs only please!) Formats accepted for exhibition: Beta SP, DVD & VHS. 2. All entries must have been completed after January 1, 2004. 3. Foreign films must be dubbed or presented in their original language with English language subtitles. 4. Only one movie per tape or DVD please! If entering more than one film, you must submit them separately. Procedures: Complete this entry form. Send 2 copies of your DVD/VHS entry to us at the address below. Don't forget to write the title and running time on your submissions. A press kit is requested but not required. If submitting a press kit please include photos, plot synopsis, cast and crew list, director’s biography, and any awards your film may have won or been nominated for. Accepted video/DVD exhibition prints are due no later than September 20, 2007. Agreements By submitting to this competition, you agree to allow your film, if selected, to be shown at the Eerie Horror Film Festival (EHFF) and at any special event or fund raiser held specifically for the promotion of the EHFF. The EHFF reserves the right to use excerpts and stills from your film for the promotion and advertising of the actual film festival and the organization's special events. Disclaimer: Every precaution will be exercised in handling entries, but neither the EHFF judges, organizers, employees, sponsors, nor participating organizations assume responsibility for any damage to or loss of materials submitted. Judging: All entries are reviewed by a panel of judges selected by the EHFF. ALL submissions will be viewed and critiqued by the panel from November, 2007 - September, 2008. The finalists will be determined by the EHFF on or around September 5th, 2008. Selected filmmakers will be notified by e-mail of their acceptance into our Festival. Exhibition copies will be requested at that time for screening at our event in October, 2008. We currently accept DVD, VHS and Beta-SP formats for exhibition. If submitting a DVD, please have it professionally mastered as home-burned discs tend to skip and freeze even on high end equipment. THE EERIE HORROR FILM FESTIVAL REGULATIONS 1. The Eerie Horror Film Festival is not responsible in any way for the travel expense or accommodations of our selected filmmakers, screenwriters or video game developers. 2. The number of screenings, dates and venue is at the sole discretion of the Eerie Horror Film Festival and is subject to change. Please check our website(s) often for details. 3. Permission for the Eerie Horror Film Festival to screen any selected movie at promotional or fundraising events and/or to use an excerpt from any accepted film/video for promotional/advertising purposes (not to exceed 2 minutes), is hereby granted. 4.
